extrusion blow molding machine

Operating duty for an extrusion blow molding machine depends on bottle geometry, layer count and how the plant handles flash. Continuous extrusion and accumulator heads are not interchangeable labels; each needs a stated reason against the part, resin and cycle. Injection blow molding remains a sibling process on the catalog page, not a substitute for this application brief.

Operating duty

Operating context
Typical US buyer contexts include industrial containers, household bottles with handles, and multi-layer barrier bottles where the plant already owns leak testers or trimmers. Duty is defined by shift length, changeover frequency and whether recovered flash may re-enter the feedstock for that product specification.

Operating duty: Design input

State article weight, cavity count, flash ratio, layer arrangement if used, and the work envelope around the mold. Include the intended throughput with material and conditions, not only a catalog bottles-per-hour number. Upstream dryers and downstream takeaway conveyors should be named if they already exist.

Supplier answer

Manufacturers should explain why continuous extrusion or an accumulator is proposed, how parison programming covers the handle or base, and which compressed air and cooling water figures they assumed. They should also confirm representative production samples the buyer will receive after a trial, including wall-thickness maps.

Open deviation

If the plant cannot accept regrind in the same percentage the supplier assumed, or if leak-test fixtures are missing, treat those as open deviations. Do not convert a demonstration on a similar bottle into a SAT for a different neck finish. PET stretch-blow remains a different family and is not used to fill this page.
